Warming Up!

This Longhorn bull is warming up in the Texas Sun. I used several values of purple for shading and then warmed him up with shades of burnt sienna.
This painting was drawn with charcoal and turpentine to set it and then painted with bright colors in oil.

It is an 8 x 10 on wrapped canvas and available on my gallery page at Daily Paintworks.
Follow this link to purchase.

Pride of the Herd

There is nothing as stately or majestic as a longhorn bull as he looks over his harem. This picture was drawn out with watercolor pencil and turpentine and then I mixed the colors in oil... 8 x 10 wrapped canvas.

Texas Longhorn

I am adding some abstract colors to this handsome  figure with brush and palette knife but not too happy with ground colors...
